I was trying to help them out and they kept making fun of my spanish speaking. So I told them to say a phrase in English, and they tried.... We were even.

In the school.....

Brenda and Bella playing. Bella was kinda a lifesaver that day, Brenda and her are SUPER close in age. When Brenda arrived she was horrified and she thought we were like legit adopting her so she clung to her mom. We tried to keep our distance for the first few hours until she warmed up. Playing with bella helped her out a lot with that.

We were giving Brenda some gifts we brought for her. =)

This is the church that a construction worker from KS built for the people to keep their faith strong while they rebuilt after the mud-slide.

In this machine the coffee beans are de-shelled and sent down into large buckets.

Here is the roaster for coffee beans at the production center.

After church all the little kids surround the priest with big hugs.

On one of the days we took a tour of the coffee production center and some other local things. Here is the guide explaining the importance of coffee in their culture.

Is he not INSANELY adorable?! OMG! He was SO cute!

Here is a display of Olivia's creations inside her shop.

Here we are inside their church, it was a while before church started and it was getting really full.

In the school again, we were doing crepe paper flowers on those frames they have on their desk. Before they came in we took their picture to put in the frame. Then we chose a fruit of the holy spirit and wrote it on the bottom above their name.

Aren't they precious?! They were making up their own toys with leftover junk in the street. But you would never know, they were like THE happiest kids ever! :)

Awww poor cows! Their owner was behind them beating their backside with sticks, I felt SO bad :(

At school, explaining the appropriate uses of sharpie :P

This is Brenda's mom, my mom was giving her some sheets and towel's for their house.

Isn't she adorable? I think someone was taking a picture to my left also, haha.

Down another street...things are SUPER crowded there. Their driving is INSANE!

Trying to figure out what's wrong... :) It was so cute though, they all LOVED camera's! We had the hardest time to get them to look at the camera and wait till we took it because they wanted to see the result SO bad!

The blonde girl behind me, they were obsessed with her hair!

Explaining putting origami pieces together to make a shape..kinda like a puzzle. The teachers incorporated their culture in how they arranged stones in their walls.

YAY! I asked her in (poorly spoken) Spanish if my help helped and this is what she did. =)

Here is me in the school again! we were doing origami with the kids. They were SO smart! they grasped the concept really quickly =) I think these were the 4th or 5th grade girls.

These cute little red car is called a "Tuk Tuk" (Took-Took) and it's like their means of transportation. Kind of like taxi's for us :)

Here we are standing in front of the former ruins of a mudslide. The pastor of San Lucas parish (Our church's sister parish) bought heaps of land and started a farm. From the sales, he gave the profit to locals to pay for the damage. Now they are living in these houses thanks to that priest.

Here is my family and me with Brenda. She is a little 5 yr old girl we financially adopted. We "adopted" her while we were there and 2 days later her family drove several hours to meet us.

Here is me w/ 2 little girls at the schoolhouse when I was helping out there.

Here is a little shrine they created at a new hospital. These people have INSANE faith! Their hospital didn't even have necessary essentials or RUNNING water! Yet they had a shrine...

Here is a picture of another tourist group getting ready to leave a lake down the street from our hotel.

This is me with Sandra, she was the interpreter for us the first 2(?) days at CFCA and for a little girl named Brenda who we financially adopted. Isn't she pretty? She was SO nice!

Haha, I thought this was hilarious because if you took a peek outside the streets were SLUMS. And she (olivia) was begging us to buy from her than she just whipped out her cell phone!

There was a lady named olivia (seen at the back of the shop) and she was always by our hotel with her arms covered in bracelets, necklaces etc and on the last day we went to her shop.

One of the houses we saw along the streets, these people seriously have nothing. Can you imagine LIVING in this house?

An ADORABLE little girl that was with her family at the CFCA building where we spent some time. Isn't she precious?!?!

Down a neighborhood in Guatemala, this is super normal for the area we were in.

A view across the rooftops in a nearby neighborhood

Here we are nearby our hotel looking at the display of a street vendor
Hope you enjoyed these! sorry they took FOREVS to put up. And sorry they're out of order :/
If you want to see more LMK!
